In the late 19th century and early 20th century agriculture was the way of life for practically every family living in our area.  Families realized the importance of having a sturdy barn that would stand up to the harsh winters and shade our resources from the hot sun of the summer.  

Through tireless labor posts and beams were hand hewn to support these mammoth buildings.  

Over the years, as some of the farmers moved on, families bought farm land that included a barn.  Years of neglect have left some of these barns in disrepair.

Not only are these barns a visual eyesore, they are a liability for your insurance, your property taxes and a safety concern!
